Pathway to a Constitutional Republic
We as a citizenry need to reform the government to the foundations of a constitutional republic as our founding fathers had intended. We propose doing this through a couple of constitutional amendments.
- Balanced budget amendment- Each Fiscal year congress does its Constitutional duty to appropriate and apportion revenue to the government; passing laws to allow for a negative income tax to fund social programs; in time of national emergency to go into deficit spending and so forth.
- Term Limits in the US House and Senate
These reforms would have to be done through a Constitutional Convention in which two thirds of the states legislator would have to approve the amendments and bypass the federal government. Washington and the Establishment will not vote themselves a pay cut.
